As a photography student I studied dramatic lighting as an effective tool when making a photograph. That knowledge carries over into the art of charcoal drawing. “Rembrandt Lighting” is the term used to define lighting that draws the eye to the focal point of the subject. It’s dramatic lighting, and I love it!
Bringing the darkest darks and the lightest lights into the drawing of Russ Pyle was both a joy and a great challenge.
