Charcoal PortraitsFaces are fascinating! The medium of charcoal on paper has given me the ability to communicate to the viewer what I have to say as an artist and what the sitter communicates with his or her body language and facial expression.
The elimination of color has allowed me to get back to basics in drawing and to communicate what I want you the viewer to see and think about. Since my journey into charcoal drawing I have come to love this medium for making a powerful statement about life and art. I hope that black and white values will invite you to linger while looking deeper into the soul of the sitter. Faces are fascinating and the human form is beautiful. When my drawing is finely tuned then, I can share what God has given me to share.
